Parking Violation Detection

Detects parking violations from IP camera feeds — vehicles stopped in no-parking zones, double-parked, obstructing traffic, or blocking fire exits and emergency lanes. Violation zones are drawn directly on the camera view, and each event is logged with a timestamped evidence image and video clip, the zone, and the dwell duration; pairing with ANPR adds the plate number for enforcement follow-up. Real-time alerts reach the control room or enforcement team as violations occur, with analytics running on-device, no cloud dependency.

Technical Specifications

Detailed technical information about Parking Violation Detection

Camera:2MP+ IP CCTV (RTSP)
Deployment:Edge device or on-premises server
Detection zones:Configurable polygonal ROI per camera
Output:Violation event, zone ID, timestamp, image crop, optional plate number

Prerequisites & Limitations

What Parking Violation Detection needs to run reliably, and the operating limits to plan for.

Prerequisites

  • Camera: 2MP+ IP/RTSP overlooking the no-parking or restricted zone — a standard IP camera is sufficient as vehicles are stopped or slow
  • Adequate illumination — pair with an IR illuminator for night monitoring
  • Stable bandwidth between camera and edge/server — roughly 4–8 Mbps per 2MP H.264/H.265 stream
  • Mounting to cover the restricted zone with a clear vehicle and (if ANPR-paired) plate view
  • Stable power and network at the deployment point

Operating Limits

Factor Edge Server
Incident / event capture rate≤ ~5 events per second≤ ~20 events per second
Concurrent camera streams per node1–4 streams (Jetson TX2 / Orin)8–16+ streams
Minimum object/plate size in frame≥ ~20 px≥ ~20 px
Event-to-alert latency< ~1 s on-deviceDepends on network round-trip

Indicative figures — actual limits depend on hardware, scene, and configuration.
