Speed Violation Detection

Detects and records vehicles travelling above the posted speed limit. Combines radar-based speed measurement with IP camera capture to produce admissible evidence packages. The radar triggers the camera at the moment of violation to capture a sharp image of the plate, vehicle, and speed reading.

  • Camera: 2MP+ IP/RTSP. Capture speed is camera-dependent — up to ~80 km/h with a standard IP camera; a global-shutter camera is recommended for higher-speed capture
  • Adequate scene illumination for night capture — pair with an IR illuminator where ambient light is low
  • Radar unit for speed measurement (hardware trigger)
  • Stable bandwidth between camera and edge/server — roughly 4–8 Mbps per 2MP H.264/H.265 stream
  • Clear line of sight to the lane, with recommended mounting height and angle for plate visibility
  • Stable power and network at the roadside cabinet
